Ducati unveils new models at EICMA 2013

Following the tradition of presenting its new motorcycles at the EICMA, Ducati officially unveiled its complete 2013 range at the EICMA 2013, the 71^st edition of the International motorcycle show in Milan. Italian Giant Ducati introduced its range at a Press Conference headed by Ducati CEO, Claudio Domenicali and Walter de Silva, Head of Volkswagen Group Design at the Leonardo Da Vinci Science and Technology Museum in Milan. Ducati’s new range included 899 Panigale, top of the line 1199 Superleggera, the much awaited Monster 1200 and 1200 S along with the new generation of Hypermotard family including the new Hyperstrada mid-range tourer and an exciting new ‘R’ version of 1199 Panigale superbike plus a special touring oriented Diavel Strada. The new and innovative range is a product of the genius and creativity of Ducati’s talented designers and engineers.

Ducati has provided the Monster 1200 with a 1198cc, Testastretta 11 degrees DS engine. The new Monster also gets 8-level traction control , three-level ABS , three-level ride-by-wire riding modes, a new chassis, upgraded suspension and brakes, a single-side swing arm and an adjustable seat height. The Monster 1200 S shares the same engine and specifications with Monster 1200, though Monster 1200 S’s engine is tuned to produce maximum power of 145 bhp and peak torque of 12.7kgm. The new Monster 1200 also features Brembo brakes, Kayaba/sachs suspension and light weight alloy wheels. The 1200 S is upgraded with Ohlins suspension and bigger 330mm disc brakes.

Both Monster 1200 and 1200 S weigh in 401 pounds(dry) is available in red colour with a red frame. The 1200 S gets glossy black, three-spoke wheels over the standard’s black, ten-spoke wheels. The 1200 S is available in White colour with a bronze frame and glossy black wheels.

The Italian firm also announced its plans for 2014 MotoGP and World Superbike Championship seasons. Ducati’s MotoGP’s official riders will be Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow and Ducati’s Corse General Manager Luigi Dall’lgana will head the Firm’s MotoGP team. Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano will pilot the 1199 Panigale in the 2014 WSBK. Ducati will also showcase its Capsule Collection which is Ducati’s casual wear collection at the WSBK 2014.
